Iowa guard Jaime Printy is among 35 players that will try out for the USA World University Games women’s basketball team.
Printy, from Marion, is one of 12 players that is a junior-to-be in college. The team will be coached by Iowa State’s Bill Fennelly.
“I am extremely honored to accept an invitation to the team trials,” Printy said. “This will be an incredible experience to compete against the best players in the country.”
She is also one of four players invited that will compete in the Big Ten next season, along with Alex Bentley and Maggie Lucas of Penn State and Lindsey Moore of Nebraska.
Players from the Big 12 that will try out are Tyra White, Kelsey Bone and Sydney Carter from national champion Texas A&M, Carolyn Davis of Kansas, Brittany Chambers of Kansas State.
The four-day trials begin on May 22 at the Olympic training center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
