Iowa was among the schools that quarterback Tyler Gabbert considered before he signed with Missouri coming out of high school.
He now is considering Iowa again.
Missouri coach Gary Pinkel announced Monday that Gabbert, a redshirt freshman, will transfer from Missouri after the spring semester.
Iowa is among the schools that Gabbert is considering, along with Arizona, Wake Forest and Louisville, according to several reports.
Tyler Gabbert is the younger brother of former Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert, who last month was selected in the first round of the NFL draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Blaine Gabbert played his final collegiate game against Iowa in the Insight Bowl on Dec. 28. He passed for over 400 yards during Iowa’s 27-24 victory.
Tyler Gabbert ended spring practice as Missouri’s No. 2 quarterback behind sophomore James Franklin. However, his father told PowerMizzou.com that there are no hard feelings between his family and the Missouri coaches.
Chuck Gabbert said his son’s decison to leave Missouri was more a business decision than a personal decision.
