The Iowa football program has advanced to the final four in the recruiting of high school defensive lineman Faith Ekakitie.
Ekakitie told WildcatReport.com via text message that he will choose between four schools, including Iowa. His other three finalists are Northwestern, Boston College and Georgia Tech.
Ekakitie grew up in Canada, but he attends Lake Forest Academy in Lake Forest, Ill.
He is ranked as the 10th best strong-side defensive end in the 2012 senior class by Rivals.com.
Ekakitie took official visits to Boston College, Iowa and Georgia Tech in early November. He hasn’t taken an official visit to Northwestern, but according to WildcatReport.com, Ekakitie has visited Northwestern numerous times.
Iowa already has received verbal commitments from at least 12 members of the 2012 high school senior class, including three from the state of Illinois: defensive lineman Jaleel Johnson from Lombard, athlete Maurice Fleming from Chicago and offensive lineman Ryan Ward from New Lenox.
