IOWA CITY, Ia. — The Iowa women’s basketball team won its eighth consecutive game Sunday behind a triple-double from freshman Samantha Logic, beating Michigan 79-71.
Logic posted 13 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists for the Hawkeyes, which concluded the regular season with records of 19-10 overall, and 11-5 in the Big Ten Conference.
Melissa Dixon, another freshman guard, also made sure the seniors went out with a victory on Senior Day at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. She hit six 3-pointers and finished with 22 points.
Senior Kamille Wahlin added 19 points, five rebounds and five assists, while junior center Morgan Johnson had 15 points, six rebounds and three blocks.
The Hawkeyes broke the program’s all-time season assist mark in the win against the Wolverines (19-10, 8-8). Iowa now has 470 assists, breaking the previous mark of 468 set in 2003 and 2010.
More than half of the Hawkeyes’ field-goal attempts came from behind the arc (33 of 64), from which they shot 36.4 percent.
Iowa led 45-34 at halftime.
