Former Iowa walk-on point guard Branden Stubbs was looking to transfer to a school where he could play more.
Augustana College coach Tom Billeter was looking to add depth and experience to his backcourt.
Both searches are now over with Billeter announcing in a release that the 6-foot-2 Stubbs would transfer to Augustana College for the 2012-13 season.
Stubbs played in 16 games over two seasons at Iowa, scoring 26 points in 54 minutes of action. He will have two seasons of eligibility at Augustana beginning next season.
“Branden is a very smart player who has spent the last two years playing against some outstanding competition,” Billeter said in the release. “He has been well coached and brings an overall toughness along with experience to a position we did not have a great deal of depth at.”
Stubbs came to Iowa without a scholarship after a decorated career at Des Moines Christian High School. The Pleasant Hill native made all-conference four times, all-state three times and was the Class 2A Player of the Year as a senior in 2010. Stubbs also finished his high school career with 2,145 points and 717 assists.
Augustana College is located in Sioux Falls, S.D., and is a member of NCAA Division II and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
