Iowa football: Is Brad Rogers the new starting tailback?

[ 2 ] August 2, 2012 |

Fullback Brad  Rogers shares the starting tailback position with Damon Bullock as the Hawkeyes enter their first official practice on Friday. A revised depth chart popped up on the school’s web site Thursday morning.

It’s not earth-shattering news, given the state of Iowa’s running backs after previous No. 2 De’Andre Johnson was kicked off the team Wednesday.

Additionally, true freshmen Greg Garmon and Barkley Hill share the next place on the tailback depth chart, which isn’t exactly stop-the-presses, either.

Neither  is the fact that defensive end Steve Bigach has been moved from the right side of the line to the left.

Coach Kirk Ferentz will talk about this during the annual media day circus on Monday,

And maybe by then, true freshman running back Akeel Lynch will have decided if he’s staying at Penn State or transferring to Iowa.
