Meyer will be one of two players redshirting for the Hawkeyes this season. The other is Jarrod Uthoff, a forward from Cedar Rapids Jefferson who transferred to Iowa from Wisconsin over the summer.

Meyer was a four-year starter at Northview High School, averaging 18.2 points and 12.9 rebounds as a senior. He is part of a five-man recruiting class that has been rated among the top 25 in the nation for 2012.
