It’s finally official. Erik Campbell no longer is an Iowa assistant football coach.
Campbell, who coached receivers the past five seasons, will seek employment elsewhere, according to the school’s press release Monday afternoon. Campbell could not be reached for comment.
“Eric has left the staff to pursue other opportunities,” coach Kirk Ferentz said in the statement. “I am appreciative of his many contributions to our program and wish him the best in the future.”
Iowa also made official what has has been reported during the past two weeks – that D.J. Hernandez will become a graduate assistant, with duties including tight ends. Hernandez comes to Iowa from Miami of Florida.
Additionally, former graduate assistant David Raih will work in a similar capacity at Texas Tech.
