News flash: Iowa finally closed a game in the late moments, winning 74-72 Thursday night at last-in-the-Big-Ten Penn State.
The Register’s Rick Brown was in State College and talked Friday morning about the impact of the Hawkeyes’ second straight win – and how realistic it was for them to reach the magical 10-8 mark in the Big Ten Conference. According to ESPN bracket expert Joe Lunardi, if Iowa – currently 5-7 – gets to 10-8, it’ll make the NCAA Tournament. Iowa’s remaining schedule (with Big Ten records):
