Plans for an Iowa football practice to be held at West Des Moines’ Valley Stadium have hit a couple scheduling snafus.
At this point, officials are leaning toward the Hawkeyes coming on April 14, for a 2:30 p.m. practice – but nothing has been finalized.
Coach Kirk Ferentz said Wednesday having a practice outside Iowa City would be a positive outreach, but that some details still needed to be worked out.
“I know people on the western side of the state do a good job of getting over here during the fall,” Ferentz said. “We really appreciate that. Maybe we can reciprocate a little here and cut the drive down for people in the far west and give them a little bit of access.”
Officials had discussed have a practice in West Des Moines on April 20, but that could be a violation of NCAA guidelines. Meanwhile, a soccer tournament is planned for April 13.
Again, plans are still be worked out… Stay tuned.
