Iowa held its seventh spring practice Wednesday. And the three-way battle for the starting quarterback job remains just that.
“Probably right where we expected it at this point,” Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz said Wednesday. “It’s still a three-horse race.”
Jake Rudock, Cody Sokol and C.J. Beathard are competing for time at quarterback.
“We came into it with no preconceived notions,” Ferentz said. “We’ve been rotating all three players virtually every couple of snaps so they work with the ones, the twos and the threes. At this point it’s still a jump ball for all three guys.
“I’m pleased with all three of them. They’re doing a lot of good things out there. And they’re doing some things that need to be worked on as well. That’s probably what you’d expect at this point.”
