Preseason magazines list Iowa State slightly ahead of Iowa

[ 0 ] June 6, 2013 |

This is the time of year when preseason football magazines are flying onto – or is that off of ? – shelves.

And so far, the so-called experts are listing Iowa State slightly higher in the national rankings.

Athlon Sports gives a pretty good breakdown of the No. 69 Hawkeyes and the No. 57 Cyclones.

Lindy’s Sports has Iowa No. 66 and Iowa State No. 44.

Newspapers are getting into the act, as well. This morning, the Orlando Sentinel ranked Iowa No. 81 on its daily countdown.

Fans of both schools can find reason for optimism at the Bleacher Report website, where Iowa State is projected to end up in the Pinstripe Bowl and Iowa is picked for the Meineke Car Care Bowl.

Phil Steele’s college football preview magazine is expected to his stands later this month.
