The Iowa basketball team will face off against former guard Pierre Pierce at 11 a.m. today in their fifth exhibition game in the south of France.
The Hawkeyes, 4-0 so far, meet Hyeres-Toulon. Pierce, who has played for that team in the past, tweeted today that he would be facing the Hawkeyes.
Pierce, who turned 30 in June, had a checkered Iowa career. He was involved in a pair of sexual assaults while at Iowa, in 2002 and 2005. After serving nearly a year in prison, Pierce tried to go overseas to continue his basketball career. The Iowa Supreme Court ruled he could leave the country in 2008.
