Injuries and heat left Iowa’s secondary depleted Saturday.
Cornerbacks B.J. Lowery and Jordan Lomax were both on the sideline during the late stages of a 30-27 loss against Northern Illinois.
Lowery expects to be back at full strength when Missouri State visits Kinnick Stadium this weekend.
“It’s just calves and cramps,” he said. “I think it was just because it was hot. It happens.”
Lomax, meanwhile, continues to deal with a sore hamstring.
“It’s starting to feel better,” he said. “I’m doing rehab right now, just taking it day by day.”
Lomax went on to say he felt a tweak after covering a receiver on a slant route to the end zone.
Coach Kirk Ferentz said reserve cornerback Maurice Fleming is working through a leg issue and is questionable for this week. Running back Michael Malloy is hampered by an undisclosed medical matter and will be out a couple of weeks.
