Lomax not on Iowa's two-deep for Iowa State game

[ 0 ] September 9, 2013 |

Jordan Lomax isn’t listed on Iowa’s two-deep for Saturday’s game at Iowa State. Lomax, the starting right cornerback, dressed but was held out of last week’s game with Missouri State because of a hamstring injury.

Desmond King, who started in Lomax’s spot, is again listed as the starter on the depth chart released today. He is backed up by Gavin Smith.

King became the first true freshman to start at Iowa since linebacker James Morris in 2010. King was credited with three tackles but also got beat on a 27-yard touchdown pass from Kierra Harris to Julian Burton in the fourth quarter.

The only other depth chart changes came in two defensive backup spots. Sophomore Nate Meier is listed as the  backup to Dominic Alvis at defensive end. Meier shared the No. 2 line with Riley McMinn last week.  And Marcus Collins is listed No. 2 at weakside linebacker behind Anthony Hitchens. Collins shared that spot with Cole Fisher last week.

Lomax missed last season with a shoulder injury, and then  bounced back from an appendicitis attack before fall camp started.
