It appears as though former Iowa basketball Ricky Davis is giving the old college try to another shot in the NBA.
He hasn’t played in the league in three seasons, but Davis is preparing to vie for a spot on the New York Knicks’ roster, according to a Bleacher Report tweet and further analyzed by Sports Illustrated.
Davis, a Davenport North graduate who dazzled in his lone season in a Hawkeye uniform to the tune of 15 points a game in 1997-98, is one of 10 players to get an invitation to the camp.
Soon to be 34, the former first-round NBA draft pick with a 13.5-point career scoring average last saw playing time in the 2009-10 season with the Los Angeles Clippers.
