Iowa cornerback Jordan Lomax, who has been nursing a sore hamstring, was not included on the Hawkeyes’ depth chart released Monday — casting doubt on whether he’ll be available for Saturday’s Big Ten Conference opener at Minnesota.
There were no changes to Iowa’s depth chart coming off a 59-3 win against Western Michigan.
That means Lomax was not listed. True freshman Desmond King has been starting in Lomax’s place since he was injured in the season-opening 30-27 loss to Northern Illinois.
Coach Kirk Ferentz has been noncommittal on Lomax’s status week-t0-week. He’ll have the opportunity to clarify Lomax’s status in Tuesday’s weekly news conference from Iowa City.
How would Lomax’s absence impact this week’s game at Minnesota? King’s inexperience has shown at time this season, but the Gophers rank 118th nationally in passing offense, with 105.3 yards per game.
Iowa-Michigan State television: Iowa’s Oct. 5 homecoming game against Michigan State, scheduled for 11 a.m., will be televised on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU. The exact broadcast information won’t be announced until after this week’s Big Ten games.
