Season ticket sales for Iowa men’s basketball home games have exceeded last season’s totals and could surpass 10,000 for the first time since the 2002-03 season, the Hawkeye athletics department said Friday.
The Iowa Athletics Ticket Office has processed orders and assigned seats of more than 8,700 for the 2013-14 season, which is more than 1,000 from a season ago.
“It’s been fun to watch Carver-Hawkeye Arena become the home court advantage that we want it to be and need it to be if we are going to reach our goal of being in a position to compete for a Big Ten regular season championship,” Gary Barta, Iowa’s director of athletics, said.
All three categories of season tickets — general public, Iowa faculty and staff, and Iowa students — are up over last season and Iowa is still accepting season ticket requests from all three groups.
Single-game sales to the general public will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 16. For more information about season and single-game tickets, fans can call 1-800-424-2957 or visit the Iowa ticket office in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
