Iowa junior guard Samantha Logic has been named to the preseason all-Big Ten Conference women’s basketball first team.
Logic, who is from Racine, Wis., was a third-team all-conference selection last season. She led the Big Ten with 217 assists, an average of 6.4 per game.
The selections were made by Big Ten media.
“I am thrilled for Sam to get this preseason recognition,” Iowa coach Lisa Bluder said in a press release. “Although it will not mean much to her, it means a lot to our program in that we are in capable hands with our floor general. Sam does so many things for us, even nontraditional point guard skills such as rebounding.”
Logic averaged 9.4 points per game last season.
Iowa will host Concordia of St. Paul Sunday at 1 p.m. in an exhibition. The Hawkeyes open the season Nov. 8 against UC-Riverside at home in a Hawkeye Challenge game at 6 p.m.
