Mitch Bowman grew up rooting for Iowa wrestling.
Next year he’ll step into the program’s practice room as one of the Hawkeyes.
The North Scott state finalist confirmed Friday morning that he committed to Iowa. Bowman, who compiled a 47-3 record as a junior, picked the Hawkeyes over a list of schools that included Grand View and Wartburg. He projects as a 174- or 184-pounder in college.
“It’s a great program that has a tradition of working hard and winning, and I want to be a part of it,” Bowman wrote in a text message.
Bowman is believed to be the sixth wrestler to either commit or sign a letter of intent to join Iowa’s 2014 class.
