An offense lineman from Waukee and a defensive back from Washington D.C. are the most recent additions to the Iowa football team’s 2014 recruiting class.
Waukee offensive lineman Ross Reynolds announced on Twitter Sunday morning that he had committed to Iowa.
“Just made it official. I committed to the Hawkeyes to play football next year!” Reynolds tweeted.
Defensive back Miles Taylor also committed to Iowa according to multiple recruiting outlets. Taylor previously was committed to Georgia Tech, but he visited Iowa City this weekend and reportedly committed to the Hawkeyes before leaving town.
Taylor is ranked as a 3-star recruit by both Rivals.com and Scout.com. He attends Gonzaga High School in Washington D.C.
Taylor is the second player from Washington D.C. to commit to Iowa’s 2014 recruiting class. Defensive back Omar Truitt picked Iowa in June.
Reynolds is the sixth player from in state to commit to Iowa’s 2014 recruiting class. The others are athlete Jay Scheel from Union High School in LaPorte City, athlete Parker Hesse from Waukon, offensive lineman Keegan Render from Indianola, offensive lineman Lucas LeGrand from Dubuque Senior and defensive end Matt Nelson from Cedar Rapids Xavier.
Iowa now has at least 21 players committed to its 2014 recruiting class. The national signing period for football will start on Feb. 5.
