The third-ranked Iowa wrestling team scored bonus points in four of its eight victories Friday in a 31-6 dual win over No. 21 Lehigh.
No. 3 Derek St. John (157 pounds), Sam Brooks (184) and No. 12 Nathan Burak (197) all won by technical fall for the Hawkeyes.
“St. John hustled,” Iowa coach Tom Brands said. “That was a 12-2 major decision and he turned it into a tech fall just because of hustle. Those are the types of things you like to see.”
No. 5 Nick Moore (165) won by major decision.
In the marquee bout of the night, Iowa’s Tony Ramos, ranked second at 133, edged No. 6 Mason Beckman 3-1.
The Hawkeyes’ only losses came at 141 and 149. A crowd of 2,786 watched the dual in Bethlehem, Pa.
Iowa (14-2, 6-1) improved to 25-0 all-time against Lehigh. The Hawkeyes return to the mat Feb. 23 at Wisconsin.
