Senior guard Devyn Marble was given the Chris Street Award at the team’s banquet Tuesday at the Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Iowa City.
The award is given annually to a Hawkeye player who exemplifies the spirit, enthusiasm and intensity of the former Hawkeye who died in an auto accident midway through his junior season in 1993.
Marble was a two-time captain and all-Big Ten player this season. He finished fifth in Iowa career scoring with 1,694 points and sixth in assists with 397.
Marble shared the team’s top playmaker award with sophomore guard Mike Gesell. Sophomore Adam Woodbury was given the team’s defensive player award. Sophomore Jarrod Uthoff was chosen newcomer of the year. Junior Aaron White was given the team’s best rebounder award and fellow junior Josh Oglesby earned most improved.
