Preseason magazines are starting to pop up on store shelves, but Phil Steele tweeted his page on Iowa this morning.

He has the Hawkeyes at No. 32 nationally and lists them as a “prime” contender in the newly formed Big Ten West Division.

Steele points to Iowa’s favorable schedule and the return of eight starters on offense, including quarterback Jake Rudock.

Over the past two decades, Steele’s magazine has gained a reputation for accuracy in its projections.

Among the more interesting stats: Iowa is one of only three football programs to have just two head coaches since 1979, joining Florida State and Virginia Tech.
