Iowa adds Florida WR to 2015 recruiting class

[ 0 ] June 21, 2014 |

The three quarterbacks in Iowa’s 2015 recruiting roster now have a classmate to throw to.

Receiver Adrian Falconer from Leesburg, Fla., committed to the Hawkeyes on Saturday, announcing his decision on Twitter.

Falconer is at least the 10th player to commit to Iowa’s 2015 recruiting class, all of whom are high school seniors. He is the first receiver in the 2015 class to pick Iowa.

He joins a class that already has commitments from three quarterbacks, including Drew Cook from Iowa City Regina and Ryan Boyle from West Des Moines Dowling Catholic.

Iowa’s other quarterback recruit in the 2015 class is Jack Beneventi, who attends Benet Academy in suburban Chicago.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Falconer is ranked as a two-star recruit by Rivals.com. He reportedly has at least 10 scholarship offers from schools that include Cincinnati, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Southern, Marshall and Memphis, among others.

He also is ranked as the 36thbest recruit in the 2015 senior class in Florida by the Orlando Sentinel. Falconer finished with 55 catches for 714 yards and five touchdowns as a junior last season.

He is among several recruits in the 2015 class who are taking unofficial visits to Iowa City this weekend.

Texas running backs Aca’cedric Ware and Devine Ozigbo also are part of that group. Both players are ranked as three-star recruits by Scout.com and Rivals.com.

Ware has scholarship offers from a long list of schools that include Iowa, Clemson, Florida, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and USC. Ozigbo has at least eight scholarship offers from schools that include Iowa, Wisconsin, Kansas State and Boise State.
