Last season, the Iowabasketball team continued its recent trend of knocking off ranked opponents.
The Hawkeyes will likely get plenty more opportunities to take down ranked foes next season.
Iowa’s 11-game non-conference schedule, released Wednesday, features eight games against teams that competed in postseason tournaments in 2014.
The non-conference slate opens after a Nov. 9 exhibition against NAIA St.and precedes an 18-game Big Ten schedule that includes conference newcomers Rutgers and Maryland.
The Hawkeyes’ first five games will come atArena as Iowa opens the season at home against USC Upstate and Robert Morris before playing two games in the Hawkeye Challenge on Nov. 21 and 22.
and game times for the Hawkeye Challenge will be released at a later date, but Iowa will be joined by and 2014 NCAA tournament qualifiers UT-Martin and Dayton.
Iowa will host in-state foes Northern Iowa (Nov. 25) and Iowa State (Dec. 11) and will travel to Drake (Dec. 21).
The Hawkeyes will play a pair of games against Arkansas andat the South Point Thanksgiving Shootout in Vegas on Nov. 28 and 29 as well as hosting Colorado on Dec. 7 and traveling to Louisville for a game in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Dec. 4.
Iowa is coming off a 27-9 season in which the Hawkeyes advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the seventh consecutive season.
The 27 wins last season tied for the second most in program history and was the most since 1996.
