Why did the Orlando Magic trade for Iowa’s Devyn Marble last week? Because they like his toughness.
Marble was selected by Denver in the second round, then immediately traded to Orlando.
“To play really good basketball, you’ve got to play both ends of the floor,” Magic general manager Rob Hennigan told the Orlando Sentinel. “That’s what we believe, and that’s what we want to be about, and I think anytime you can find players who compete at both ends — truly compete and truly want to put forth the requisite effort that it takes to try to win — we feel that’s a critical element.
“So as we started to examine the draft and all the players that were available, we wanted some hard-nosed dudes and we want guys who are going to get after people.”
