For the second time this week, a senior on Iowa’s 2014 wrestling team has landed a job as a college assistant.

Utah Valley has hired former Hawkeye stat Ethen Lofthouse as the program’s volunteer assistant.

Utah Valley announced Wednesday that it has hired Ethen Lofthouse as the program’s volunteer assistant. The two-time All-American replaces former Iowa State standout Cyler Sanderson, who left the program to train with the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club.

Lofthouse, a four-time Utah state high school champion, compiled a 91-32 record in four seasons as a starter with the Hawkeyes.

“I’m really excited to get back into wrestling in the state of Utah and be on the coaching side of things,” Lofthouse said in a news release. “I’m also looking forward to recruiting the kids here in Utah and being able to get the max potential out of them.”

The Lofthouse hire comes two days after North Dakota State coach Roger Kish added Iowa senior Derek St. John to his staff.
