Iowa’s Brandon Scherff named to Big Ten watch list

CHICAGO – Iowa’s Brandon Scherff is among ten players named to the Big Ten Conference watch list, released this morning.

Scherff, a senior left tackle, earned all-conference and all-America honors last year, and is a primary reason why the Hawkeyes are seen as West Division title contenders.

He is joined on the watch list by Nebraska’s Ameer Abdullah (running back) and Randy Gregory (defensive end), as well as Wisconsin’s Melvin Gordon (running back) and Rob Havenstein (offensive lineman).

Players from the East Division were: Maryland’s Stefon Diggs (receiver), Michigan’s Devin Funchess (defensive end), Michigan State’s Shilique Calhoun (defensive end), Ohio State’s Braxton Miller (quarterback) and Penn State’s Christian Hackenberg (quarterback).
