Iowa’s return to Tobacco Road will get national attention.

Coach Fran McCaffery’s team will visit North Carolina Dec. 3 as part of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. It was announced today that the game will tip off at 6:30 p.m. (Iowa time) and be televised by ESPN.

This will be Iowa’s first trip to Chapel Hill since beating North Carolina, 98-97, on Jan. 7, 1989. Iowa leads the series, 2-1, also winning in Iowa City on Dec. 9, 1990, by a 87-74 score.

The Tar Heels beat Iowa at the 2004 Maui Invitational, 106-92.
